I’m here to tell you that I started 2026 with the best dark romance trilogy I’ve come across. I’ve read all of queen Rina Kent’s books, but these are something else. It’s a roller coaster of emotions and they are really high and low. 

You meet Kade Mitchell, son of the famous psycho Tobias Mitchell (Psychotic Obsession, read that too before these books!), and when he’s 15, he meets Stacey Rhodes, his twin sister’s best friend. They begin a relationship, in secret, when they are 18 after a dare that they should kiss in a tent, it’s both of their first time. They fall for each other and are so sweet and adorable. But behind closed doors there is an abusive step brother to Stacey that makes her life hell but she keeps him a secret from everyone. Almost a year later Kade and Stacey’s relationship come to an abrupt ending that shatters them both and that’s when Kade is lured in to the dark world.

Through flashbacks of their relationship, and in the real time story line, we get one heck of a story. You can’t put these books down and they’re written so well. Unhinged characters but also a lot of spice! Before these, I’ve read the Little Stranger duet from Leigh Rivers so I knew she writes some really unhinged characters but these books, OMG. Kade is my man! You won’t regret reading these, I promise! (And also, we reaaaally hate Bernadette, the Sawyer couple)
